3 Continuing Our Tradition of Excellence ALPHA NU SUCCEEDS IN ALL AREAS OF BROTHERHOOD A s president of Alpha Nu, I am proud to report our achievements and accomplishments over the past year. Our chapter has made significant strides in academics, philanthropy, brotherhood, and campus involvement. Academics and Spring Initiation Yet again, Alpha Nu won overall grades out of every fraternity and sorority on campus. We achieved a 3.72 GPA for the fall 2022 term and a 3.76 fall cumulative GPA. In January, we initiated the 2026 pledge class, who had a 3.83 GPA. This is an incredible achievement, and it reflects the hard work and dedication that goes into our pledgeship program. I am extremely proud of these men, and I am excited to see where they go. Supporting Our Brother One of our proudest accomplishments over the past year was our visit to Colorado to surprise and initiate Luke Karel '26 into our chapter. Sixty-four of our members, in addition to several alumni and advisors, made the trip to Colorado to show support for Luke, whose Leukemia relapsed in the fall. It was a heartwarming experience for all involved, and we were thrilled to welcome Luke as a brother of Beta Theta Pi. Additionally, in December 2022, we held a Be the Match event supporting Luke, where over 300 people were swabbed for the National Marrow Donor Registry. This event was crucial in raising awareness about the importance of becoming a bone marrow donor and supporting the cause. After holding this event, several other Beta chapters have been in contact about holding their own Be the Match event. Member Activities In December 2022, we hosted our alumni Turkey Pull, which was a huge success and attracted over 600 guests. Our chapter has also been actively involved in campus activities over the past year. In addition to the various philanthropic events and volunteer opportunities, we organized several social events and mixers that brought together students from different backgrounds and fostered a sense of community and friendship. Additionally, we were one of five houses accepted into the annual Rock Chalk Revue production, and our show was a big hit. We came home with three awards: Best Story, Best Male Ensemble for Ben Whittaker '24, and Best Comedic Performance for Joey Wood '25. You can read more about the show on page 7. Overall, Alpha Nu has had a successful and fulfilling year. We have made significant progress in all areas of our chapter and look forward to continuing our tradition of excellence and service in the years to come. Our biannual executive turnover dinner was a success this year! Our guys had a great time bonding and sharing ideas on their respective positions. We are looking forward to a strong board for the spring 2023 semester.
