11 Alumni Updates Memory and Our Mystic Shrine J. Dan Decker '85 entered the Mystic Shrine on November 13, 2022. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in chemistry, he became a sales representative with Becton Dickenson Corporation, where he quickly advanced into successive management roles. He later served as vice president of sales for Eppendorf North America. Dan loved to cheer on the Kansas City Chiefs, his university's team, and every team his son, Daniel, and daughter, Courtney, played on. He always saw the best in everyone and was constantly inspiring others. Alumni News 1950s L. Ed Stollenwerck '50 is finally fully retired and is only reporting FMD income for taxes. He has been living in Houston for the last 25 years, and he shares that following the university's basketball team will get easier with the Big 12 expansion. "I really appreciate how well the Alpha Nu Chapter keeps us seniors proud of our Beta connection." Email: edstolle@ comcast.net 1960s Bob A Swan Jr. '64 reports that several Kansans, who are concerned about the growing nuclear threat and worsening U.S. relations with Russia and China, have founded the International Peace Center in Lawrence. Wahl '64 spends most of his time in Maitland, Fla., where his two sons and two grandchildren live. Robert still has a house in Nashville, Tenn., where he worked for 33 years. Bill Pogson, M.D. '72 retired in 2021 after 40 years in cardiology. He resides in Blue Springs, Mo. Email: bpogson@comcast.net Keith R. Fevurly '73 wrote another book, Planning for the Elderly: A Financial Guide to Aging, which is now in the second (new) edition and is available on Amazon. Shellito, M.D. '73 retired in 2019 after 42 years of working as a surgeon in Boston. He continues to live happily in beautiful New England, residing in Wellesley Hills, Mass. "Thank God I'm an Alpha Nu Beta." Email: paulshellito@gmail.com Rhoads E. Stevens, M.D. '76 continues his solo practice of ophthalmology at Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is the world's expert in pterygium surgery. His spare time is spent on safari in South Africa, where he recently bagged a trophy Sable antelope, and whale watching in his new Boston Whaler runabout on the Pacific Ocean. Chuck volunteers with the Mercy Hospital Neighborhood Advisory Board and is the chairman of the Edmond City Advisory Board. He enjoys play golf and traveling when possible. The event, organized by Matt Vineyard '96, included social time with current house members and a barbecue at the house. 1990s Tully McCoy '98 accepted the position as president/CEO of Great Plans Trust Co. in Overland Park, Kan., in August 2021.
