ENTRE NOUS 2 Executive Council Jasmijn Teunissen '23 "I chose Pi Phi because from day one, the girls were sincere, hilarious, and made me feel at home. ey inspire me, and I feel so supported by everyone!" Why They Joined Gia Parr '23 "Going through recruitment can be an overwhelming process, as you see so many houses over two weeks. I never thought I would have that 'at home' feeling, but then I walked through the doors of Pi Phi. Talking with girls such as Tessa Taylor '20 and Sasha Corcuera '22, I knew Pi Phi was not only an accepting place, but also one that is full of genuine friendships. I am so happy to be in a place with girls I can not only call friends, but also role models. So happy to have love and support from all the Angels!" Sim Beken '23 "From the moment I stepped into Pi Phi, the energy of the chapter appealed to me. All of the girls seemed genuine, fun, and friendly. As an international student, one of the most important things I was looking for during recruitment was to become friends with a diverse group of girls from all over the world, and Pi Phi has given me just that. I am so excited to create more memories with these amazing people that I have met." Our Executive Council at the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri, during Pi Beta Phi's College Weekend. SUPPORTING CHILDREN'S LITERACY One of our beloved fundraisers, Pi Social, will be on April 21. All proceeds will benefit Pi Beta Phi Foundation and Read > Lead > Achieve®, Pi Phi's philanthropic effort focused on literacy and supporting communities in need. e event will be open to the entire USC community and will feature our famous "Pie a Pi Phi" tradition. We have also been conducting our Champions Are Readers® (CAR) program, where every Friday, a group of Pi Phis visit the USC Magnet 32nd Street Elementary School to provide one-on-one reading support to the first-grade class. CAR always reminds us how meaningful the work of Read > Lead > Achieve truly is! ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE California Gamma places an emphasis on academic excellence, and we are proud to provide an environment at the chapter house that reflects this. Every night the dining room is filled with studious women participating in study hours. Pi Phi is unparalleled because we have members of all different majors and interest areas—from fine arts to entrepreneurship to mechanical engineering and more. Additionally, we are overjoyed that our chapter's cumulative GPA consistently ranks above the all-Greek, all- women's, and all-undergraduate averages.
