Arrow Talk PAGE 6 W e have been incredibly busy here at Oklahoma Beta and have enjoyed every second of it! From welcoming New Members to our sisterhood to getting involved in fraternity/sorority life and staying active on campus, we have accomplished so much. Hard Work Pays Off Last fall, our chapter was awarded first in grades with a 3.73 GPA. We are so proud of our members for all their hard work last semester! To incentivize our sisters to keep up the good work, at the end of the semester, the member class with the highest grades will receive a spa day! We will also be holding a major fair at the house to familiarize younger members with older Pi Phis in their major. Supporting Our Community Our members find it truly rewarding to support different causes and are grateful for the opportunity to host and participate in philanthropic events. Last fall, we partnered with FarmHouse to hold the Race for Reading, a 5K and fun run that raised $14,000 to benefit Stillwater Head Start and Read > Lead > Achieve ® . This spring, we will be hosting two philanthropy events, Pie a Pi Phi and Lemonade for Literacy, to continue to support these philanthropies. Growing the Sisterhood We were excited to spend our last Spirit Week and recruitment in the current house on Cleveland Street last fall, and we were even more excited to welcome home 54 new angels on Bid Day. This spring, we had the opportunity to participate in Continuous Open Bidding (COB) and invite even more amazing women into this chapter. All chapters on campus were asked to participate in COB this year. This opportunity came with one more Bid Day and another chance for some of our "lasts" in the home we have known for so long. So far, we have added nine New Members through this process—with hopes for a few more! Throughout the rest of the semester, we will be hosting recruitment workshops, sisterhood bonding activities and other events to ensure readiness for fall recruitment. We are also preparing for Greek Discovery Day in April. Getting Involved on Campus In the fall, we paired with Beta Upsilon Chi for Into the Streets, a program in which we helped clean up the yards of elderly Stillwater residents. We also had the opportunity to participate in America's Greatest Homecoming with the men of Phi Gamma Delta. This year's theme was "Hats Off to Cowboy Heroes" and we honored some of our most notable alumni through our decorations and sign, themed "Cowboys Assemble." We also participated in the Basketball Bonanza tournament with our Homecoming pair and came in first place! This year, OSU brought Special Olympics Unified Sports to campus. A few of my friends and I recently played in a cornhole tournament; it was such a fun and inclusive activity. I am hoping to get as many Pi Phi women involved in Unified Sports as I can. Planning Exciting Events In our upcoming My Tie date party with Sigma Chi, we will be wearing short, colorful, fun dresses to match our dates' ties! We will also be hosting a '70s-themed PTK again this year with Theta and Kappa. We are most excited about Mom's Day/Parent's Weekend on April 22. Since it is the last Mom's Day in the house, we are going all out with banners, food and fun activities. We simply cannot thank our alumnae enough for your constant support, effort and time. We love sharing this sisterhood with you and hope you know that the chapter house is always open to you. Feel free to drop by for a visit anytime—we love seeing you here! We hope to see you at the groundbreaking/ Founders' Day brunch on April 29.
