The Arkansas Citizens' Climate
Lobby has chapters around the
state working on climate change
issues and environmental justice.

Buffalo River Watershed Alliance
The Buffalo River Watershed
Alliance was formed in 2013 to
"Save the Buffalo – Again" when
an industrial scale hog facility was
built just five miles upstream from
the Buffalo National River. After
a 6-year battle, the hog farm was
closed. Now the alliance is focus-
ing its attention on other threats to

Fayetteville Natural
Heritage Association
Fayetteville Natural Heritage
Association began in 2003 with a
successful effort to Save Mount Se-
quoyah Woods. Their mission is to
identify and protect Fayetteville's
most significant natural areas.

The Nature Conservancy
The Nature Conservancy works
with private landowners, busi-
nesses, public agencies and orga-
nizations to conserve and restore
the lands and waters of Arkansas.
Since 1982, they have conserved
more than 320,000 acres across the

Northwest Arkansas
Audubon Society
Northwest Arkansas Audubon
Society is committed to preserving
the natural world of birds through
education, environmental study
and habitat protection in Benton,
Carroll, Madison and Washing-

Northwest Arkansas Land Trust
The mission of Northwest Arkan-
sas Land Trust is to preserve and
enhance the quality of life for all
people in Northwest Arkansas
through the permanent protection

The Ozark Society
The Ozark Society was founded in
1962 by Dr. Neil Compton of Ben-
tonville. The society's mission is to
preserve the scenic rivers, wilder-
ness and unique natural areas in the

Save Markham Hill
Save Markam Hill is a citizen
group fighting the urban devel-
opment of 144 acres of woods on
Markham Hill in Fayetteville. The
group seeks to secure and protect
the property as a nature and wild-
