September 29-30 Spring 2023 THE STOPE PAGE 2 ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT • WHY THEY JOINED SIGEP • NEW MEMBERS PAGE 3 BUILDING ON OUR SUCCESSES • CHAPTER OFFICERS • CHAPTER GOALS G reetings, brothers. 2023 is a big year—our 100th year of Colorado Delta! The AVC is hard at work finalizing event details, but hopefully you've already seen our save the date for September 29-30. This is Homecoming weekend at CSM, so between those activities and several SigEp gatherings, it's shaping up to be a wonderful time to reconnect with brothers you may not have seen in decades. To that end, I'd like to request your aid in two things. • First, we'll have the RSVP system set up shortly. Early registrations greatly improve our planning and budgeting, so please sign up as soon as possible. • Second, if you're in contact with any brothers, ask them if they're attending. If they have no idea what you're talking about, put them in touch so we can update our contact list. It will be a literal once-in-a-lifetime event, so we hope to see everyone come out! Stay tuned for further information, including special attendance-only swag. Thinking about what 100 years of SigEp at CSM means, I'm struck by several thoughts. It's an amazing honor to be part of something with that longevity. It's even more impressive when I think about the chain of common experiences linking the most recent members all the way back to our founding. I'm excited how well the Chapter continues to perform: voted Chapter of the Year, top in grades again, intramural sports, involved on campus, and recently involved with an Executive Council retreat with the rechartered Colorado Gamma at CSU. Lastly, I'm proud. Damn proud to be a SigEp from Mines. It helped shape me into the person I am today, and I am forever grateful for the experiences and for the brothers I've met through our Fraternity. So, I hope you'll take the time to come out to Golden in September so I can catch up with you. Some will be for the first time, which is always a joy. Some I haven't seen since my undergraduate days in the "late 1900s." And some just since last month, as I've been fortunate to stay connected with a few guys . . . when we force time into our schedules. But regardless of our respective ages, I am proud to call you brother! Fraternally, Eric Wilson '94 Brothers enjoying a meal at a recent Colorado Delta gathering.
