SMALL BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT: Continued from page 6
aren't trying to cram all that study in
during their junior and senior years.
He wishes he had known what he knows
now when he was in high school. He
spent more time working a part-time job
than he did studying to take the college
entrance exams. He figures the $8.50
per hour he earned at his job could have
easily turned out to be $400 an hour in
scholarship earnings.
"A reallocation of just five hours per
week would have given me a better
starting position with my college
finances," Allister said. A lesson he
hopes his students are learning.
First-Time Homebuyers
Program Helps Members
Success!
Brooks Goodson first learned of
Redstone's First-Time Homebuyers
Program from his agent in Murfreesboro,
after he switched financial institutions
only two and a half weeks before his
scheduled home loan closing.
"We found our home, and the mortgage
company that our realtor initially
suggested could not make it happen for
us. At this point, we were only about
15-20 days away from closing," Goodson
said. "She [our realtor] did some research
and told us to call Kevin Loftis at
Redstone. I called him, and two weeks
later we closed. It was kind of a miracle!"
Redstone understands the challenges of
buying a first home, such as coming up
with a down payment. Our experienced
mortgage originators can guide you
through this process.
If you're a first-time homebuyer or if you
haven't owned a home in more than three
years, Redstone offers special programs
designed to fit your needs.
Goodson moved in September 2022 and
is enjoying the new place. "We're in a good
spot," he said.
