"Having Crowder College available to our community members does exactly what our mission statement says: Building a civil, serving, literate, learning community of responsible citizens." The main campus in Neosho has a quad that is surrounded by academic and administrative buildings, a gymnasium, and a community center. Davidson Hall houses the science and health technology programs, the core of which is a FEMA shelter. Crowder also has two styles of student housing on the Neosho campus. Brown Residence Hall is the traditional suite-style housing and Roughrider Village apartments offer independent living with full kitchens and laundry. A hands-on working farm and state-of-the- art technology provide training for those entering the workforce in their career and technical education programs. The Neosho YMCA is also housed on campus land. In total, the campus covers over 600 acres, including the college farm and a truck driver training range. What Aaron believes sets Crowder College apart from other institutions of higher learning is that Crowder College faculty and staff make an effort to assist their students more than just in the classroom. "We value each and every student for their varied backgrounds, educational goals, experiences and more," he said. "This is seen time and time again across all our service region. We are passionate about making a difference and about one another. We cultivate curiosity and innovation and respect diverse perspectives." It's all part of the Crowder College philosophy that is guided by the principles of what they call servant leadership. "Servant leadership is based on the values of serving those around you to improve their lives and opportunities," Aaron said. "The goals of everyone from the Board of Trustees, administration, faculty and staff is to serve. We share many stories about the students who grace our doors, as each one is unique." For Aaron, Crowder truly has been a family affair. "As a Crowder graduate and a second generation Crowder employee, Crowder is home to me," he said. "It's wonderful to come to work everyday knowing that what I do makes a difference in people's lives. I love being able to work with students to help them determine their path toward a career. I love helping people's lives change for the better." Cindy Brown, Director of Public Information at Crowder College, agrees with Aaron about the unique qualities of Crowder. "I enjoy meeting new people and seeing them grow from their first step on campus through graduation," she said. "I have built some lifelong friends in students and co-workers at the college." "No matter where you live in the four state area, Crowder has something for you," Aaron added. "At the McDonald County Instructional Site, we have many options for degrees and certifications in healthcare; everything from single course certifications that allow you to become an Emergency Medical Technician or Certified Nurses Assistant, to full degrees that allow you to sit for national licensure in Nursing or Paramedical Science. Crowder's a great place to take the first step in establishing a career." www.eubanksequipment.com -HUGE SELECTION OF BOLTS, SCREWS AND OTHER HARDWARE -WELDING SUPPLIES AND GAS BOTTLE EXCHANGES -HYDRAULIC HOSES MADE TO LENGTH -PROPANE BOTTLE FILLING STATION LOCATED OFF I-49 BETWEEN ANDERSON AND PINEVILLE ON WEST OUTER ROAD VISIT US ONLINE: EUBANKSEQUIPMENT.COM 417-436-4444 Equal Housing Opportunity Anderson, Lanagan & Pineville Housing Authorities are currently accepting applications for low-income, elderly, disabled and veterans.
