100 Years of Alpha Omicron Tradition 100 Years of Alpha Omicron Tradition
S
ince our sorority's founding in 1885, Alpha Chi
Omega has been providing its members with lifelong
opportunities for friendship, leadership, learning, and
service. Alpha Omicron Chapter, founded on September
14, 1923, has had a rich and dedicated history at The
Ohio State University for 100 years. AO has nurtured
and sustained 2,200 women during some of the most
formative years of their lives. Regardless of when you
were initiated, Alpha Omicron has been the place where
many of us had our best collegiate memories. We were
consistently surrounded by a group of diverse women
who enriched our lives and pushed us to become
REAL. STRONG. WOMEN.
While there may be some differences in today's chapter
compared to the one that you know, AO women have
continually made their mark on campus and in our
communities. Our home at 103 E. 15th Avenue has been the
epicenter of our experience as Alpha Chis and is a place of
potential and a home away from home for young women
during their time at OSU. It is where we gained confidence,
supported one another, and continued to define ourselves.
For Alpha Chi Omega to continue its persevering
presence on The Ohio State University's campus, we
must ensure that we are providing a safe, welcoming
environment and updated facility. As we approach the
100th anniversary of Alpha Omicron in 2023, now is
the appropriate time to celebrate our traditions while
moving into the next century.
