The men of Beta deepened another great relationship through the Homecoming experience by their pairing with the wonderful women of Gamma Phi Beta. The months of hard work paid off, as Beta's Homecoming dec won second place overall, including awards for Love's Fan Favorite in House Decoration with their creative Space Jam theme, honoring notable OSU alumni with its design. After only our fourth attempt in Homecoming competitions, a second-place finish has established Beta as a well-rounded house competing for top awards on all fronts. The summer convention on the eighth day of the eighth month was fun as well. Our General Fraternity awarded us the Sisson Award and the Whitman Corral Cup last summer. You can be confident your chapter is in good hands and that great men are being added to our brotherhood each year, even those who have completed their collegiate experience. This fall, we had the honor of initiating OSU alumnus Bill Gustafson '78, a former Beta pledge, into the rolls of Beta Theta Pi after his recovery from a severe stroke. This was made possible by the efforts of his past pledge class led by brother Bill Ahrberg '78, former Gamma Lambda Chapter President and IFC President at Oklahoma State University in the fall of 1977. We celebrate his initiation into Gamma Lambda Chapter and salute the spirit of brotherhood so evident in our alumni to this day! It was a privilege to witness. As always, we thank our alumni for the active role that many of you play to propel our chapter to new heights. In keeping with the historical legacy of achievements, please note that your chapter brothers are trying to keep Beta distinguished from all others and following in your footsteps. Yours in _kai_, David Buskirk '23 Chapter President david.c.buskirk@gmail.com 2 Beta Theta Pi Y our men of Beta Theta Pi are looking stronger than ever! The foundation of this success has begun with selecting young men with the potential to fit into the culture of our chapter of Beta at Oklahoma State. We ended the fall semester with 134 active members and as the largest house on campus. We soon anticipate adding 52 to that number in the upcoming initiation. Our Head of Recruitment, Ryan Hofmann '23, has targeted a spring class of 11 soon to be pledged. His leadership in the recruitment process has been stellar. In fact, four of the students named "top 10 freshmen" on campus by the University were Beta freshmen. We express our thanks to those alumni who have assisted in the recruitment process. Our Gamma Lambda Chapter once again excelled academically in the fall semester. We are the largest house on campus, and the members and pledges accumulated an average GPA of 3.56. That earned us a second overall ranking only to a much smaller Farmhouse by just 0.08 of a grade point. The IFC's average GPA was 3.28. When it comes to Greek shows, our bar continues to be high. Head directors, seniors Max Sise '23 and Drew Wilkie '23, followed up their three- peat performance of wins from last year with another first-place victory in Freshman Follies this fall while paired with the great ladies of Pi Beta Phi. Once again, they left few awards for their competitors by taking home trophies for best vocals, best choreography, best theme, and best male vocalist—along with first place overall! We look forward to watching their performances in Varsity Revue and Spring Sing. Competing in academics, Greek shows, and developing thriving campus activities has always been an integral part of the Beta house experience at OSU. Intramurals and Greek sports competition is certainly no exception. This spring, the men of Beta Theta Pi look forward to defending the individual intramural championships for men's softball, coed kickball, ultimate frisbee, and the IFC Greek Olympics. This fall brought additional championships in intramural volleyball and both of Chi Omega's Wish Week basketball and baseball tournaments amidst preparations for success in "America's Greatest Homecoming." CONTINUING OUR LEGACY OF ACHIEVEMENTS Luke Wolfard '25, Luke Douglas '25, Ryan McCaskill '24, Braxton Tempest '25, and Logan Dill '25 at a tailgate.
