Small town girls, big dreams
As we welcomed in the new year, the
small town of Van Buren was abuzz with
anticipation. Making history, the town held its
first annual New Year's Eve ball drop with local
celebrity Gabrielle Mooney at the helm. e
daughter of Rick and Cindy Mooney, owners
of Rick Mooney Construction, and older sister
to Shay Mooney of Dan + Shay, Gabby is no
stranger to the spotlight. With her own unique,
creative twang, she knows how to put on a
show!
Adding to the festivities were special guest
appearances by Gabby's older sister and TikTok
star Erica Mooney, as well as her nieces, Shiloh
and Ellie. Growing up in the area, I remember
the Mooney family singing in the church choir
at Grandview Assembly of God Church. It's
clear that the family's talent runs deep, and
Shiloh and Ellie are no exception.
