ILLINOIS BETA CHAPTER Jack Lenihan '19 on Teamwork and a Career in Software BUILDING AS BROTHERS B rotherhood is built on teamwork and communication. Jack Lenihan '19 knew this to be the case even before joining Illinois Beta, since he knew a few older brothers through high school football at Barrington. Joining 22 brothers in a small new member class, Jack quickly learned the value of teamwork and shared responsibility in a chapter house. During sophomore year, Jack served as treasurer before becoming eminent archon. One of his most memorable tasks as EA was overseeing construction on a new backyard fence as he established a "fence committee" with Kyle Gattari '19, Yoni Weisman '19, and Mike Clewlow '19 to develop the project. "That was a great stepping stone to what I do now as a product manager," Jack said on his time as eminent archon. "Lots of working to build consensus across groups with different goals." After college, Jack started his career in software and currently works with Provi, an alcohol marketplace platform that simplifies ecommerce for bartenders, restaurants, and distributors. He mainly works on global search and ad discovery development in his product manager role. Jack's career success doesn't stop at Provi—in his few years after college, he has also co-founded Wivisor.com with a fellow Illinois graduate. The digital growth marketing agency keeps Jack in the same realm of work as he helps businesses expand their online presence both locally and nationally. Though Jack's work with Provi and Wivisor has already put him on a promising course for his career, he recognizes how formative the Illinois Beta experience was for developing values of teamwork and cooperation. Much like the work of his fence committee, Jack's professional teams build toward shared goals. Thinking back on his undergraduate years, Jack fondly recalls Christmas formals at the chapter house. He is fortunate to keep in touch with so many brothers from his new member class in the Chicago area. Jack looks forward to getting together with alumni brothers to cheer on the Illini.
