Balanced Through Adversity BROTHERS SHARE THE BEST SIGEP HAS TO OFFER S igEp Iowa Delta has faced challenges over the past few years: the COVID-19 pandemic, decreasing trust in the fraternity community nationwide, and multiple other hurdles along the way. A great organization is not measured by how it succeeds during easy times, but rather by how it adapts and overcomes in the face of adversity. Iowa Delta has done just that. We have continually shown commitment to being great students and better men, remaining leaders in fraternity GPA over the past three semesters (including a 3.49 this past fall), outperforming the all-campus average. We continue prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Balanced Man Program with the creation of a new vice president DEI role. In addition to our internal growth, brothers remain leaders on campus in a variety of on-campus roles. Notable examples include Connor Oetzmann '23 as Drake's student body president, Daniel Krey '23 as student body treasurer, and Colin Rodine '22 as a member of the peer advisory board. Brothers also hold roles as peer mentors/academic consultants, orientation leaders, IFC officers, and within other student organizations. Service is important to SigEp, not only on our college campus but in the community as well. In October, Iowa Delta supported Meals from the Heartland by packaging meals for children in need. We honored Drake alumnus Paul Morrison by picking up litter around campus that same weekend. For the holidays, we supported Big Brothers Big Sisters of America through our annual philanthropy event, Miracle on 34th Street. We raised $1,000 for the organization and collected lots of toys to donate to some deserving families. is would not have been possible without the hard work of our brothers as well as the generosity of our peers and community members! Finally, Iowa Delta has been recognized for its success with plenty of awards over the past two years. In 2021, we took home Chapter of the Year, Highest Chapter GPA, Outstanding Philanthropy, and Outstanding DEI Programming along with multiple brothers winning individual awards. is past summer, we accepted our fourth-straight Buchanan Cup, the biggest award possible for a SigEp Chapter. We intend to win a fifth-straight cup this summer, and with your help, we can continue this streak of excellence for years to come— offering the SigEp experience to the next generation of leaders and showing everyone that this Fraternity is different. Fraternally, Colin Rodine '23 Chapter President Brothers and friends gather for our annual Miracle on 34th Street event, which raised $1,000 for BBBS of America. Four brothers deliver toy donations to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America! Brothers "rock in the hair nets" with Meals from the Heartland, packing meals for kids in need.
