Residents of and visitors to Russellville,
AR, have a new attraction to fuel their sense
of creativity and appreciation of art. Of course,
Russellville is already home to Arkansas Tech
University, four state parks and numerous other
attractions, but the Arkansas River Valley city
now also features the Wild Creek Art Gallery.
e brainchild of Peg Bowen, Wild Creek
Art Gallery recently opened at 208 W. Main
in Russellville. Bowen, a graphic designer
who also enjoys painting, took ownership
of the space October 1, and the gallery held
its official grand opening event the day aer
anksgiving, on November 25.
"is has just been a passion of mine to
create this space," Bowen said. "I want to make
art accessible to people and to encourage
people to try art and to enjoy others' art."
e 3,000-square-foot gallery in the middle
of downtown Russellville's art district currently
showcases creations in a variety of media by 15
artists from around Arkansas and other states,
including Texas, Georgia and Alabama. But
there is room for more, Bowen said, adding
that anyone interested in showing their work at
Wild Creek Art should contact her.
"If it's art, we want it in here," Bowen said,
adding that the 15 artists currently featured
are just the beginning. "at sounds so little
compared to the space we've got; we want to fill
this place up."

Prints of this painting by Wild
Creek Art Gallery owner Peg
Bowen are available for sale at
the new gallery in Russellville.
The gallery is located at 208 W.
Main in downtown Russellville.
Wild Creek Art Gallery owner Peg Bowen
understands that sometimes it is difficult
to appreciate a single piece of art when
it is surrounded by so many other pieces.
That's why her gallery displays some of its
art, such as this piece by Daniel Kostic, in a
more natural, home-style setting.
