CoverStory By Jay Bobbin As always, the end of a calendar year is a time to reflect on familiar enter- tainers who left us during the preceding 12 months. Here's a remembrance of some television staples. Angela Lansbury: After legendary successes on Broadway and the movie screen, this icon made a permanent impact on the TV landscape as "Mur- der, She Wrote's" Jessica Fletcher. Bob Saget: "Full House's" beloved Danny Tanner had another major TV role as the narrator of "How I Met Your Mother." Kirstie Alley: "Cheers" and "Veronica's Closet" were a couple of memora- ble television stops for this distinctively earthy two-time Primetime Emmy winner. James Caan: Following many successful films, this rugged actor came to se- ries TV in "Las Vegas" and "Back in the Game." Ray Liotta: Though prin- cipally a movie actor, Liotta brought his trademark intensity to the police se- ries "Shades of Blue" and earned a Primetime Emmy for an "ER" guest role. Sidney Poitier: This esteemed Oscar winner brought his talent to TV in a number of projects including a sequel to "To Sir, With Love" (directed by Peter Bogdanovich, who died on the same day). Nichelle Nichols: This "Star Trek" essential's portrayal of Lt. Uhura was iconic in multiple ways ... and the series and movies will continue to make it so. 'Gone but Not Forgotten' 2022: Farewell to some TV legends The identity of the featured celebrity is found within the answers in the puzzle. In order to take the TV Challenge, unscramble the letters noted with asterisks within the puzzle. InFocus "Kaleidoscope: Season 1" (Netflix — series premiere, Jan. 1, 2023) Loosely inspired by a real story, this limited original anthology series spans 25 years as it follows a crew of masterful thieves and their attempt to crack a seemingly unbreakable vault for the biggest payday in history. Giancarlo Esposito, Rufus Sewell, Paz Vega, Tati Gabrielle, Peter Mark Kendall, Rosaline Elbay and Jai Courtney are in the solid cast.
