Dedicated to the Men & Women of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Mis- souri Gamma Chapter Beartracks is named after Wilbert "Beartracks" Burton BEARTRACKS Alumni Newsletter of the Missouri Gamma Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon at the Missouri University of Science and Technology Dec 2022 Funny how a few past friendships can be re-ignited with a few old photos and some phone calls from a brother. It began back in the spring when I was tasked with finding missing emails of my era in preparation of the 75th Anniversary Celebration. As I started to make contact, I realized I couldn't remem- ber what some brothers looked like, so I dug out my old SigEp photo box. Being the House Historian and part time Miner Newsletter photographer, I had taken many candid shots with my five pound 35mm SLR. The memories of some of the greatest years of my life came flooding back. And I felt the need to share images and memories with my brothers. As I made some headway with gathering emails, my goals shifted to inspiring others to come to the 75th, mostly because I wanted to see them again after some 45 years, as many had made an impact on me. It began with an individual contact and a photo, and soon spread to a group message with multiple photo sharing with multiple comments. I felt I had made some headway, but I still had only a few commitments to attendance at the 75th. Then late one night about three weeks before the event, I got a phone call from Rocky Andes, who had been silent up to that point. And when his name came up on my phone I immediately felt honored to receive a phone call from an upperclassman, my senior, and a very well-respected IFC member, St. Pat's Knight and member of the elite Moran Club "Hey Dave, Rocky began, I am planning a gathering of a few brothers (before the 75th) at my lake house on Linga Longa Circle, and would I like to join?" And that's how the Linga Longa story began. After a day and a half of being together, we had uncov- ered so many memories and told so many stories. We reverted to acting like college kids again. But best of all, we had renewed our relationships as if it was only last year that we were together. A special thanks to Rocky for making it happen and bringing us all together. And thanks to all who made the effort to attend, including Randy Ganz, who joined us late the second day, and to Danny Vance and Andy Cox, who joined us virtually and shared some of their favorite stories. My experience has taught me that SigEp brothers are brothers for life. I challenge all my brothers to pick up the phone and contact one of your favorite brothers. I can guarantee they will be receptive and glad you called. You will be surprised that it will seem like only yesterday we were together at 801 Park St. Brother Naeger '80 #558 Brotherhood Reunion Pictured at Rocky Andes '79 property in the Ozarks!
