Schooley '90 A PLACE TO CALL OUR OWN ALPHA PHI UNDERGRADUATES AND ALUMNAE MAKE NEW MEMORIES Over the past few months, our members have loved bringing friends and family to the new facility to show off our new home. There have also been hundreds of alumnae who have now seen the house, and many have shared stories about the history and memories that were formed at 906 S. Providence Road. It's been so fun and meaningful to be a part of this experience. The house has opened many more opportunities for the chapter, providing us with the ability to hold chapter meetings and other larger events that we have planned for the year. Having chapter meetings in our house is one of the aspects we appreciate the most. Previously, we had to walk to a large lecture hall on campus to fit our group, and now we can all be together. For in- house girls, all we have to do is walk downstairs! And after the meeting is over, members can study, see their friends, and otherwise enjoy being together in the house. This fall, the chapter held a late-night dinner at the house, Mac 'n Phis, which, together with our Red Dress Gala, raised approximately $15,000 for the Alpha Phi Foundation. It was our first year hosting Mac 'n Phis, and it was very successful, made possible by having the space in the Grand Hall to host all the guests. We look forward to utilizing the house to host all kinds of other large events. On October 9, we initiated 81 new members in the house, which was possible for the first time in decades, now that we have the space to hold our growing chapter. Previously, we had to rent space off-campus to hold this most sacred of events on our calendar. Having the opportunity to have the whole chapter together in one space and the ability to host events for our campus community has created many memories and new traditions for Omicron. Being together, especially after a highly unusual college experience the past few years, truly means the world to us, and we are so fortunate to have this new home to call our own.
