SIGMA PHI EPSILON • WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITY FALL 2022 WASHINGTON ALPHA e I n just the small span of a few years in Pullman, many of us turned acquaintances into brothers, and those brothers into lifelong friends. We have traveled the world together, celebrated marriages, childbirth, career milestones, sporting events, and more. Many are raising families and running businesses together. Today, Washington Alpha continues to provide that brotherhood-building experience to young men despite Greek Chapter closures, a pandemic, and an ever-evolving landscape of the modern college experience and its challenges. We wouldn't have a house to write about if it weren't for a handful of exceptional brothers that keep us moving forward, and similarly, an outstanding group of undergraduates doing their part by keeping the Chapter House as strong as ever in just about every measurable metric. Since the last issue of The Washington Alpha, the undergraduates hosted an alumni golf tournament at Palouse Ridge Golf Club and an alumni tailgate in Lot 1 during Homecoming weekend. Both events were well attended. It was great to see the Fraternity doing well, connect with the undergraduates, and reminisce with other alumni. Watching our Cougar football team crush Cal 28-9 was the cherry on top. We launched the newsletter this past spring (tinyurl.com/WaAlphaS22) as part of our alumni outreach drive. We're making solid progress in our mission to engage with those we've lost contact with, shoring up our list of "lost brothers," and exploring more ways to connect with one another. We hope you enjoy these updates and will take the opportunity to reconnect with your brothers and Washington Alpha soon. We urge you to visit the link to the right to check our current list of lost brothers— you might be able to help us as we attempt to reconnect with these alumni. To ensure you stay informed about future events, make sure we have your contact info! If you received this newsletter physically in the mail or a digital copy via email, that's great! If you want to update your contact info, send an email to updatemyrecord@penningtonco.com with SigEp Washington State in the subject line. If you haven't already done so, check out mysigep.org to access Chapter info, the alumni directory, the digital SigEp Journal, volunteer/ mentoring opportunities, and ways to interact with the National Fraternity. Finally, join our private Facebook group, "Sigma Phi Epsilon – WA Alpha Alumni" and follow @sigepwsu on social media to stay closer to the action. As I type this, one alumnus is giving away tickets to this week's football game and the undergraduates are sharing updates from the 2022 Queen of Hearts competition.
