Why was his character killed off of "SEAL Team"? – Jerry Cook, via email A: Though the actor started the current television season maintaining that he had the energy and relative youth to keep shuttling between the shows, it was apparent that CBS' "Fire Country" was the bigger demand for him, with his being a co-creator and executive producer there as well. In the end, if a choice had to be made, "Fire Country" clearly was the show he ultimately was going with. The differences in filming schedules were challenging, too, with "SEAL Team" now being a Paramount+ streaming series with fewer episodes per season and a somewhat more nimble and flexible production formula. In the end, that drama came up with a plausible (if, for fans and that show's cast and crew, downright heartbreaking) premise for the character Clay's exit, and Thieriot is exclusive to "Fire Country" now. Q: When will "Magnum P.I." be back? – Chris Hartman, Wheeling, W. Va. A: After being canceled by CBS and reprieved by NBC, the Jay Hernandez-starring remake will join the latter network Feb. 19. It will have a Sunday-night slot for its fifth season ... and maybe also for its sixth season, which NBC ordered at the same time. They'll be relatively short seasons, though, with 10 episodes each.
