C L E A N T H O S E C L O S E T S ! Surprise! Surprise! E N J O Y A S P E C I A L F A L L N E W S L E T T E R H opefully, a few short weeks ago you caught our special email-only edition of the Beta Tau ConnΣΚtion. We not only introduced the current members of the House Corporation Board, Advisory Board, and chapter officers, we also invited all alumnae to join our growing and enthusiastic community of volunteers. (Didn't receive it? Please update your contact info by returning the enclosed biographical update or emailing Nancy Greenwood Connerat '87 at btcorpboardatlargeamethyst@gmail.com. We don't want you to miss a thing!) Why another edition so soon, you ask? Frankly, there is so much going on at Beta Tau to contain in only one newsletter. We are just brimming with news, and we can't wait to share! Dig in and enjoy a look back on some of the fun from last spring, learn how the House Corporation Board and alumnae volunteers pitched in to make sure the house was top shape and move-in ready for collegians in August, and get a preview of the special events coming up. We hosted Football and Founders Weekend on November 12-13 in Gainesville. We loved seeing Sigma Kappas having fun, cheering the Gators, and honoring our ΣΚ heritage and our 25- and 50- year alumnae. Beta Tau Housing Corporation of Sigma Kappa at the University of Florida • Fall 2022 Beta Tau ConnΣKtion VP of Philanthropy and Service Sidney Ruedas '20 gives the reorganized closets a thumbs up! I n July, an energetic group of alumnae descended on the house and applied some serious elbow grease to cleaning and organizing the many storage closets throughout the home. These critical spaces allow the chapter to store the things they need for recurring events and activities, including ritual events, recruitment, holidays, and philanthropy. Over two days, our work crew tackled multiple closets on all three floors, installed new shelving, and organized everything into handy storage bins. The weekend was not all work! The alumnae shared a lot of laughs, had a fun overnight in the house, and explored some of Gainesville's nightlife. We've already identified the projects we'll tackle next summer and hope you'll consider coming to help too! Look for details coming soon about our Alumnae Sleepover Weekend in July 2023.
