FALL 2022 WEEKEND HOME GAMES November 19 vs. Minnesota (women's hockey) November 20 vs. Minnesota (women's hockey) November 26 vs. Minnesota (football) December 3 vs. Michigan (men's hockey) December 4 vs. Iowa (women's basketball) December 11 vs. Valparaiso (women's basketball) THANK YOU, KATHY! We all know that Chi Omega made our college years great, and many have made it an important part of their lives after graduation. Few, however, have made a lifetime commitment to Nu like Kathy Suckow Murtfeldt '72. The huge fundraising and remodeling projects that Kathy spearheaded have had a monumental impact on current Chi Omegas and can only work to set up our future sisters for success; we are forever grateful for her dedication and inspiration. MAKE-A-WISH Chi O continues its support of Make-A-Wish; the recent Eleusis summarizes our commitment to this organization. Nu Chapter has raised over $130,000 in the past 20 years—amazing! MILWAUKEE ALUMNAE GROUP We have an active Milwaukee alumnae group that meets monthly, which may include a philanthropy project. This year, we are continuing our support of one family's needs at Christmas. SCHOLARSHIP EVENT We have held a luncheon for decades to raise funds for our scholarships. Yearly, we distribute $3,000 to $5,000 to Chi Os in our state's three Chapters at Carroll University, Carthage College, and UW-Madison. We're excited to announce that next year's event is an evening event, held in April 2023. We'd love to see you there, so please let me know if you are interested in attending or make a donation to our silent auction! Loyally Yours in Chi Omega, Ann Shelley Stover '74 Supporting One Another Nu Celebrates Philanthropy and Alumnae I n 2015, I joined a newly reformed house corporation as vice president to deal with the Nu Chapter House that had fallen into disrepair. I served as co-chairman of the Nu Chapter capital campaign, partnering with Pennington & Company. The campaign raised approximately $750,000 in donations and pledges. We also partnered with Pennington to produce newsletters, which are now electronically delivered to Nu members and alumnae, and occasional email blasts. I then worked with the Chi Omega Foundation to determine ways to expand educational space in the house. I wrote 15 grants to secure funds from the foundation's tax-deductible gifts to pay for Nu Chapter renovations. I also supervised the yearly renovation projects with Tri North construction partners. The Nu house board has funded major projects, including adding a new boiler; adding air conditioning; tuck-pointing the brick exterior; updating the library, living room, and TV room; renovating the bathrooms on the second and third floors; and undertaking the recent dining room update.
