THE STORY OF THE XI
T
hroughout our history, brothers from the Xi have consistently
made an impact at Wesleyan, in their career fields, and in
their communities. While we were in school, many of us were
unaware of how valuable the Xi experience was in our lives, but
the ongoing development we received through Psi U—including
leadership skills, social skills, teamwork, and character—has
been integral to our personal success. Over our almost 180 years,
we have evolved so that we may continue bringing our message
to the next generation of Wesleyan students. In 2015, we adapted
and began accepting brothers regardless of gender, and because
of this, the Xi has remained an organization committed to high
academic achievement, developing leadership potential, and
creating lifelong bonds.
Our Chapter House at 242 High Street, which is nearly 130
years old, has been home to many generations of Xi brothers.
As the first structure in the country designed and built to house
Fraternity members, our history is one that stands the test of
time. To maintain its hallowed status, we must overcome a
number of challenges discussed hereafter. With our history as a
guide, now is the time to make our vision of the future a reality.
