Chapter hosted its 141

Pig Dinner. In
one of the most important Pig Dinners to date,
many Graduate Brothers came back on this fine
evening to rekindle the importance they have on
this Chapter. There was no shortage of laughs
and nostalgia at this dinner as the past and
present brothers shared stories with each other
as the night rolled along.
The dinner started with the ceremonial "Bring
in the Pig," an annual tradition for the freshman
to bring the pig in to officially kick off the
dinner. Along with that came the "Kissing of the
Pig." Jensen Schnurr '26 kissed the rear end
and Tom Collinson '64 kissed the snout. Our
Chapter president, Sam Dufort '23, addressed
the room shortly after. He, along with Jim
Bloom '80, shared that the freshman GPA is a
3.6, which is certainly what we strive for!
The classes of '76 (Golden Owls) and '01 (Silver
Owls) were also recognized in a roar of applause
as their commitment to the Pi Deuteron Chapter
of Phi Gamma Delta still remains today. Keynote
Speaker, Kevin Kuster '91, really brought it
home with his passionate presentation about
how the alumni are needed most at this time
for help and guidance for the undergraduates.
He proclaimed that this is a turning point in the
Chapter and that we are stronger than we've
ever been. Luka Owen '25 then presented him
a check to his nonprofit organization from the
money the Chapter raised from their car wash
fundraiser in September.
The night could not have been made possible
without the likes of Toast Master Jake Brown '02,
Jay Ruf Jr. '24, Hunter Austin '24, and
their committee behind them. They organized
everything and made it the success it was.
And with that we say P!
Fraternally,
