It really felt like everyone was from all walks of life." –Tyler Maral '26 "I joined Theta Chi for the great people and the great opportunities it had to offer." –Ryan Naeve '26 Bring Alpha Mu into contention for the President's Cup at Iowa State University and win the Alter Award from Theta Chi Fraternity International Headquarters. • The President's Cup is judged on the five values of the fraternity and sorority community at Iowa State: friendship, leadership, academics, social justice, and civic engagement. To win the President's Cup, Alpha Mu has made some changes, which are mentioned in the president's report. We also created a social justice chairman role to become more involved with the Multicultural Greek Council and National Pan-Hellenic Council chapters. As we strive toward this goal, our chapter is becoming a healthier environment and better overall. • The Alter Award, our fraternity's highest award, is judged on requirements from Theta Chi. While our chapter has consistently done well, we have never won. Recruitment and academics have been big focuses this semester to give us a chance to win the Alter Award. Increase our membership to 80 or above by the end of fall 2023. For our members to get the best possible experience from Theta Chi, our chapter must grow. People want to join a chapter that has fun activities, including brotherhood events, intramurals, and Dad's Day, and increasing our programming has been beneficial for recruitment. Initiate a pledge class of 20 or greater in fall 2022. Our chapter wants to grow and has recruited the members to do it. Our next step is continuing through the new member process. Marshal Justin McKenna '24 has implemented new programs into the process and has seen positive results. We have focused on pledge class bonding exercises to increase the brotherhood that keeps new members interested and involved in the fraternity. Integration of the pledge class with the current membership is always a tougher task, but this year our members and pledges have fostered relationships early in their pledging process. We look forward to completion of this goal on November 10, when our new members will officially join our brotherhood. Chapter Goals
