Fall 2022 Centennial Celebration 2-3 A Bright Future 4 Welcome, New Members 5 Chapter Goals 5 T H E A L P H A M U T H E A L P H A M U TO M A H AW K TO M A H AW K Theta Chi Fraternity at Iowa State University GOLDEN AGE FOR ALPHA MU W hat a great celebration we had for our 100th anniversary as a fraternity on the Iowa State University campus Between brothers, spouses, and friends of the fraternity, there were 320 in attendance at the banquet on Friday night The crowd included attendees who came from coast to coast and border to border Many brothers in attendance I have known for more than 50 years Discussing old times and catching up on current happenings was great fun The tailgate on Saturday was also enjoyable We had the largest crowd since we began the annual tailgate several years ago The weather mostly cooperated, despite a brief rain shower It is celebrations like this that highlight the difference between the fraternity experience and life in the dorms The bonds of brotherhood forged during undergraduate years live on forever I am grateful that the members of the Mohawk Club chose to affiliate with Theta Chi all those years ago My decision to join is one of the best I have made in my life I hope that our fraternity will continue to provide a great experience for future brothers, and I hope future celebrations are as enjoyable as our 100th was Fraternally, Ted Hovda '73 Alumni Corporation Board President tshovda@comm1netnet A CENTURY OF ALPHA MU Gary Sacquitne '76 and Ted Peters '74 at the pre-game tailgate.
