Alpha Pi's 150th
Anniversary Is
Approaching
Finalize Your Plans for April!
W
e recently held a two-day reunion of
western Betas in Denver to kick off the
first game of the football season. The event's
hosts, Jim Mack '70 and Jim Rogers '73, were
joined by Randy Randolph '70, Al Kaniss '72,
Rod Taylor '72, and Ric Speaker '73.
The event was a smashing success, although
temporarily marred by Jim Mack's inability to find
the game on his TV. The situation was only saved
after massive amounts of advice, to say nothing
of personal abuse, were heaped on Brother Mack.
The old ways are still the best ways!
One of the things that stood out from the
weekend was how few had our Alpha Pi
sesquicentennial on their radar. Happily, once
informed of the festivities, everyone agreed to
attend, with Jim Rogers promising to drive his
Aston Martin from Denver to Madison.
Our 150th anniversary is planned for
April 21-22, 2023. Friday's event is an
old-fashioned beer supper at the house. We
promise that the entree will not be the dreaded,
yet always anticipated, tuna noodle casserole
accompanied by rabbit salad iceberg lettuce
topped by carrot shavings.
On Saturday, there will be a banquet and dance
at the Madison Doubletree. You can contact the
hotel at (608) 244-4703 and mention the Beta
150th to get a $79-per-night room rate, thanks to
Brother Dave Lenz '71. Make your reservations
now while rooms are still available!
