Emily Rappé Fisher Development Director, Children's Safety Center Emily was born and raised in Fayetteville, but went to Springdale High School as her moth- er taught school in Springdale. She attended the University of Arkansas. She's been the develop- ment director for the Children's Safety Center for 10 years and has "enjoyed every minute of it." From planning events, to increasing donor support, her main mission is to raise much needed funds so the Center can continue serving the ever-growing population of child abuse victims in our area. Right now they are in the middle of their Healing the Future campaign, raising $15 M for a new standalone facility that will be centrally located in Washington County. The beautiful new building will help the CSC and their partner agencies better serve the children and families they see every day. " " Leadership Fayetteville Experience I am a graduate of Leadership Fayetteville class XXVIII in 2014-2015 and I chaired class XXXII in 2018- 2019. The CSC's executive director Elizabeth Shackelford is a leadership alumni and she pushed me to participate. Benefits and connections One of the best benefits of participating in Lead- ership Fayetteville is you are placed in one-on-one situations in front of leaders from our community that you may not necessarily have access to. For myself as a fundraiser, this is key to have the opportunity to not only raise awareness about the CSC's mission but also chat about any current issues that might be affecting our children or needs the Center may have. Growing up in Fayetteville you think you've seen it all. But that's the unique thing about Leadership Fayetteville. It's literally a backstage pass to nonprofits, economic development, history, education, health and wellness, and a whole lot more! Going through the program definitely opened my eyes to how much growth and commerce our area truly has. As a nonprofit fundraiser, your hope is that at least one or two classmates will be drawn to your mission. Which indeed happened. But then the cool thing is now you're an alumni. You have access to alumni events and all the classes that came before you and then after. It really is like a little club that you belong to and by being a member, doors open easier. Recommendation DO IT!!!!! You'll have fun, make lifelong partnerships, and won't regret a single day, I promise. 19 Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce
