"Tau Chapter gave me a tight community I knew I could rely on, and I needed that," Ann said. "I was missing that before I joined, and I was very grateful to have it even when I couldn't live in the house." While in school, Ann worked part time at the university library and loved it. Upon graduating, she attended the University of Minnesota to obtain her master's degree in library science and became a professional librarian— the only career she ever wanted or needed. Ann and her husband lived in many places over the years, from France to Pennsylvania. It wasn't until 25 years after graduation that they settled down in Iowa City and Ann began working in the university library. "I really enjoy helping people," she shared. "I worked in different sections of the library and wound up in reference, so I was able to connect with students face to face." Ann embraced being back at her alma mater, as it was the first time in a while that she was near a school with a Delta Gamma Chapter. She was asked to serve as the advisory board chairman for Tau Chapter, and she truly enjoyed the opportunity. She later became a House Corporation Board chairman and was involved in maintaining the house and working with the active Chapter. Ann took joy in observing the group dynamic of the wonderful Chapter members. She continues to treasure the experience and the alumnae she worked with at the house. Ann retired from the university in 2004, and she and her husband stayed in Iowa City. While she admits that she hasn't been as connected with Tau Chapter since, she appreciates the friends it gave her, many of whom she stays in touch with today. "There are about five or six of us who have met in different places over the years," Ann said. "I don't think I could have ever developed that kind of friendship outside of my sorority, and I really treasure that." Ann's younger sister also became a Delta Gamma, and Ann is proud to have had her follow in her footsteps. Ann enjoys staying in touch with her children and grandchildren, who live in Richmond, Virginia, and Overland Park, Kansas. You can connect with her at e-ann-ford@uiowa.edu. A resident of Leawood, Kansas, and a third-generation Hawkeye, Kristin Forney Wing '81 is excited to return to Tau. After graduation in 1984, she served as ATC at Drake University and moved to Kansas City, where she served on Beta Kappa (University of Kansas) advisory and House Corporation Boards. While volunteering at KU, Kristin was asked to chair the advisory board of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity to help rebuild relationships with the university and restructure the chapter following an alcohol-related death of a member. She also launched a consulting business called Greek Gab, designed to help build healthy chapters. Kristin held positions with the Greater Kansas City Delta Gamma Alumnae Association, including membership, program, and now president. She was recently named to the Delta Gamma Alumnae Advisory Board. In her spare, non-DG time, Kristin serves on nonprofit boards in the Kansas City area, plays competitive tennis, enjoys fly-fishing, and is learning how to box. She is married to Dave and has four grandchildren. Dedicated to DELTA GAMMA Kristin Forney Wing '81 Joins the Alumnae Advisory Board Chapter Officers Chapter Officers
