Right: Delta Gamma was proud to have our first in-person Work Week in three years! T he fall 2022 semester has been one of the best in the last few years, and I am thrilled that the Tau DGs have returned to enjoying all the in-person aspects of being in a sorority. WORK WEEK AND RECRUITMENT Our first in-person Work Week in three years was held a week before classes began, and it was a great opportunity for all member classes to really get to know each other better. The recruitment team did an amazing job planning the week with unique themes each day, including fun events like ice cream truck and donut sisterhoods. We also had a car wash where we raised over $300 for Service for Sight! Recruitment took place September 28 through October 8, with Bid Day on October 9. SEMIFORMAL Looking back to September and before we welcomed our newest members, we held a barn dance semiformal. Director of Special Events Cece Tauer '21 worked hard to create the perfect event and decorations. A special thank- you to the great Tau alumnae who supported the decorations for barn dance and Bid Day through our Amazon wish list! ANCHOR SPLASH Spring was also fun and full of activities, and VP Foundation Alice Beberdick '19 had this to share: "Last April, we were able to host our first in-person Anchor Splash since 2019! Pairs of junior DG members coached teams of fraternities and sororities for the title of Champion of the Anchor. The competition events included biggest splash, relay races, and synchronized swimming routines. It was amazing to see the campus-wide excitement for our philanthropy event with over 200 spectators in attendance. Overall, we raised $8,161 in support of Service for Sight!" Congratulations to the Anchor Splash team and the whole Chapter for a very successful event. NATIONAL CONVENTION Finally, I had the honor of representing my Tau sisters this summer by attending the DG National Convention in Philadelphia. I was proud to accept the Patricia Petersen Daniels Award along with the Academic Excellence Award on behalf of Tau Chapter. The convention was an amazing experience to meet other Delta Gamma sisters, learn more about how our Fraternity works, and see how sisterhood lives beyond the college years. I will wrap up my presidency at the end of this year, and I want to say thank you to all my sisters as they put their hearts into Delta Gamma. Managing campus and sorority life during a pandemic is challenging, but that is where sisterhood really shines through.
