Slade hopes the paintings in this exhibition tell the stories of these citizens' hard- ships, and highlight the strength and dignity of Colombian activists and community leaders as well as their vulnerability as they work for social justice. Through the power of art, she hopes to initiate a dialogue with the viewer that will encourage others to recognize the interconnectedness of the struggle for racial justice across the globe.. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 22 TWO6IX TATTOO FESTIVAL VOLTA SPACE 8 p.m. Join the Church Entertainment Lounge and Paddy's Irish Pub for Latin Fusion Night! Enjoy free dance lessons from the incredible Rolands Dance Studio from 8 to 10 p.m. Salsa, Bachata, Zouk and ChaCha are all on the menu! Meet new people, have an amazing time, and make new friends! Then after you learn all your new moves, dance the night away with their featured Latin Fusion DJ Serg Sniper starting at 10 p.m. ADULT GAME DAY & POP UP EMPIRE LOUNGE 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Come get your spades, bid whist, Uno, dominoes, Jenga, chess, checkers, or some cornhole on participating with adults who like to have fun taking part in some of the most traditional and fun interactive games ever! Doors open at noon and while the games are happening inside, pop- up vendors will be on-site for you to purchase some unique, creative and authentic items. A $30 ticket covers your entry and full entree courtesy of Doug's NC BBQ food truck. DJ Rico Ocho will keep the entertainment going and the vibe joyous. Empire Lounge is located at 984 Old McPherson Church Road, 910-988-4504. UKULELE JAMBOREE THROCKMORTON LIBRARY 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. There is magic in learning music! Join the Throckmorton Library as they learn basic ukulele skills every month. This program will introduce you to the wonders of creating music as you learn beginner ukulele skills. There will be a limited number of library ukuleles available to use during the program so they encourage you to bring your own if you have one. Song sheet music will be provided. So grab your ukes and come jam! This event is open to the public, ages 10 years to 100! For more information call, 910-396-2665. MONDAY, OCTOBER 24 THURSDAY, OCTOBER 20 NIGHT TOURS 1897 POE HOUSE 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. Come for a spirited visit to the 1897 Poe House and witness spooky vignettes com- plete with a few ghosts. This is not your traditional Poe House tour! Guests will be transported back in time, witnessing a series of short vignettes while becoming immersed in early 20th-century cultural norms, music, and poetry through this scripted short play. This is a unique opportunity to experience historical theater in an actual historic home. Tours last 30 minutes and are limited to 15 people per tour. Admission is $5 per person, and tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets are available at https://museumofthecapefear.ncdcr.gov 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. SUNDAY, OCTOBER 23 FRIDAY, OCTOBER 21 HALF BAKED OPEN MIC COMEDY THE SWEET PALETTE 8 p.m. The Locals Comedy is back at Sweet Palette for the next round of "the hottest open mic in Fayetteville." The event is free.Comedian sign-ups start at 7 p.m. and showtime is at 8 p.m. There may be explicit language used during the show, so it is recommended only for people ages 18 and up. LATIN FUSION NIGHT CHURCH ENTERTAINMENT LOUNGE 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. Members Only Tattoo Company is host- ing their inaugural Two6ix Tattoo Festival in Downtown Fayetteville. This premier festival will be the first of its kind bringing an all-day tattoo convention together with a Halloween festival! Three free $500 Tattoo gift cards will be given away to winners of their costume contest. There will also be live tattooing, vendors, painters, kids' temporary tattoos, a 360 photo booth, food, drinks and more! At 6 p.m. they will be doing a Trunk or Treat for the kids. SUNDAY, OCTOBER 23 FRIDAY, OCTOBER 21 HOWL-O-WEEN PET ADOPTION CROWN COMPLEX 11 a.m. Come out and meet adoptable pets from the Cumberland County Animal Shelter! The first 200 people will receive a special Hallow- een treat bag (for people). Bring home a new furry family member or just meet the animals and donate toys or treats to their Trick or Treat supply drive.
