Girls Inc. Huntsville invites you to
close out 2022 with a celebration and a
resolve to help girls be "strong, smart,
and bold."
In January, Huntsville Mayor Tommy
Battle proclaimed 2022 "e Year of the
Girl," in honor of Girls Inc.'s 50th year
serving Madison County girls.
An affiliate of the national Girls Inc.
organization, it serves more than 700
girls annually in grades K-8, helping
them to develop socially,
physically, and emotionally.
eir programs focus on
STEM, economic and financial
literacy, leadership, and
healthy living. Its mission is to
inspire all girls to be strong,
smart, and bold. Girls meet
after school and during fall,
spring, and summer breaks.
"We are thrilled to reach
this important milestone in
our journey. Girls Inc. has
impacted thousands of lives
in our community, and we are preparing to
expand our footprint across North Alabama,"
said Stephanie Malone, Executive Director of
Girls Inc.
"Redstone Federal Credit Union has been an
incredible partner and financial supporter
of our work. With the community's help, our
girls are making their mark in the areas of
education, medicine, business, and STEM,"
Malone said.
Girls Inc. has hosted events this year
highlighting the impact it has made in
the lives of girls. ose celebrations will
culminate on October 27, 2022, with its
Fuel Her Fire Sneaker Gala at the VBC.
International tennis champion Serena
Williams will headline that event.
Over the next five years,
Girls Inc. has visions of
empowering and equipping an
additional 3,000 girls with the
skills needed to be leaders in
their schools, communities,
and professions.
It has inspired and
empowered more than 50,000
girls since it opened its doors
in 1972 and looks forward to
serving even more.
