S ummer is winding down and fall is just around the corner. For many of us, it means one thing… football season. It has been a roller coaster of an offseason, but entertaining in so many ways. There seems to be an enthusiasm amongst the fanbase that I have not seen in a very long time. I am excited to see the team take the field under Coach Venables, and I think we are going to surprise a lot of people. I look forward to catching up with many of you over the next few months on game days, and the Alumni Association looks forward to once again hosting regular tailgates at the chapter house three hours before kickoff. Recently, members of the Alumni Association, Board of Trustees, Housing Corporation, and Chapter Advisory Board met to discuss transitions, the future, and how to better connect with the chapter. It is always enjoyable to hear from the men who helped build much of what we see today and to reconnect with members of the younger generation who can bring new ideas to the table. I am privileged to call many who are in or about to be in leadership roles friends, and I look forward to working with them to strengthen Delta Kappa in the coming years. We currently have alumni representatives who coordinate events in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Denver, and Los Angeles. By next spring, we would like to add Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston. There is also an opportunity to help out in Norman on game days. If you are interested in assisting with or hosting events, please reach out. It's never too early to save the date for a big party. I am excited to announce that we will be turning the Founder's Day celebration into a biannual event, with the next one set to take place on September 8, 2023. The Georgia Bulldogs will be in town for what should be an exciting matchup, and I hope that many of you can join us for a weekend of celebration. We'll have more information on the details and tickets by early next year. Finally, give us a follow on our social media accounts! We have streamlined access to all of our platforms, and this is the easiest way to stay up to date on alumni news and chapter developments. You can find all of them at linktr.ee/ouatoalumni, along with the latest digital edition of The Beacon. Love and Respect, John Esche '08 Alumni Association President johnesche@outlook.com "T "T he most meaningful aspect of being in a fraternity came when I started to give back," Ethan Sarani '10 shared. Being involved in ATΩ from the onset with philanthropy, intramurals, and leadership positions, Ethan discovered the impact of an influential voice in the collegiate experience of others, which brought significant value to his own life. Ethan's overall fraternity experience is something he carries with him as he navigates his friendships, career endeavors, and personal character. "I had some preconceived notions of what fraternity life would be like," Ethan admitted, "but joining ATΩ subverted those expectations in the best way." When Ethan saw how each brother cared for one another, he was content knowing that these memories were far from fading, and he was just getting started in the organization that would soon become a fundamental aspect of his life. When he saw ATΩ grow from its humble recharter to being the top chapter on campus, he felt pride beyond words. As an alumnus, Ethan stays connected in various ways. "The primary way I stay involved is through leading the ATΩ Delta Kappa Alumni Committee in Colorado. Through this role, I help organize brotherhood as well as network and volunteer events for Delta Kappa alumni in Denver," Ethan shared. Since taking part in the committee, Ethan has witnessed a growth in participation, and he looks forward to continually growing and connecting with brothers.
