OUR CHALLENGES AND NEEDS
W
ith the support of alumnae for the last 40 years, our
home in College Station has provided members
a space to gather, meet lifelong friends and achieve
academic goals. As the chapter grows and the house
matures, Texas Eta's Chapter House Corporation wants to
bring the house up to current standards while maintaining
a premier living experience for all members. If we are
to preserve the Texas Eta legacy, now is the time to
invest in a living environment that allows our home to be
competitive in a changing university atmosphere and gives
members an opportunity to grow our sisterhood.
OUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME
Our home needs updates to ensure the safety and
productivity of our members. The original commercial
kitchen needs renovations and new appliances, and the
HVAC system needs an overhaul. We continue to be
creative with funds to maintain the chapter facility, but
now is the time to make these significant infrastructure
changes and bring Texas Eta into the 21st century.
A GROWING DEMAND
Texas A&M University continues to enroll more students
each year, including many women with the intent to
join Panhellenic sororities. With expected member
classes approaching 100 women, our collegians need
expanded space to live, learn and gather. We will consider
reconfiguring walls to expand livable spaces, such as the
chapter room and under the porte-cochere.
OUR CONTINUED EXCELLENCE
With student growth and increasing chapter sizes, on-
campus housing has been updated to keep students from
seeking less-restricted housing off campus. Texas A&M
has renovated dorms to provide modern, apartment-style
accommodations, while several sororities have renovated
or rebuilt their facilities. We must remain competitive by
providing innovative technologies throughout the facility
and creating a cohesive interior that stays true to the
essence of Texas Eta.
