Beginner painters are welcome and encouraged. There will also be door prizes and a givea- way. The event starts at 6:30 p.m., but feel free to arrive about 20 minutes early and eat ahead of time at Napkins, or you are welcome to order food and eat as you paint. SATURDAY, AUGUST 20 CONCERT + FESTIVAL 325 ARCH STREET Noon – 1 a.m. Dirty Whiskey Craft Cocktail Bar is cele- brating its one-year anniversary and wants every single one of you who has made them feel so special this past year to come out and celebrate. This birthday-style celebration is free. There will be games, music, desserts, and some of your fa- vorite alcohol from the past 365 days! Formal attire is not required, but they want you to dress up for a fun night. Music will be provided by Steady Hand, followed by DJ Alan. The event will kick off at noon and end at 1 a.m. This event is for everyone 21 and older. I LOVE MY COMMUNITY COOKOUT MURCHISON MARKETPLACE 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. The 2nd Annual "I Love My Community Cookout & Giveaway" will be held at the Murchison Rd Food Truck Park. L3 Brands will be featuring "Expression Through The Arts" through music, dance, writing, visual arts, media, spoken word, and the painter and illustrator's corner. This event is in conjunction with the Black BBQ Cook-Off, where top grill masters will compete for the Championship Belt. Celebrity judges will help decide who takes home the win. The owner of the Murchison Marketplace Plaza is providing this space for all parties to come together to make this happen as they aim to shine a light on the Murchison Road area and families within it. There will be free food, performances, and resources for the community. SALSA & SWING NIGHT VOLTA SPACE 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Join the Culture & Heritage Alliance as they host free Salsa and Swing dance classes every Tuesday night. This free, community event is open to all. Salsa dance lessons start at 7 pm. Swing/Shag lessons begin at 8 p.m. Beginners and Intermediate learners are welcome. TUESDAY, AUGUST 23 THURSDAY, AUGUST 18 RED CROSS BLOOD DONATION 1220 WALTER REED RD, SUITE 102 11 a.m. – 4 p.m Did you know about 62% of the U.S. po- pulation is eligible to give blood? But, only about 3% does. By making an appointment to help save lives with the American Red Cross in August, donors can pump up the blood supply and keep it from falling to shortage levels. Platelet donors are especially needed now. As a thank-you, all who give in August will be entered for a chance to win gas for a year, a $6,000 value. There will be three lucky winners. Everyone who comes to give blood or platelets in August will also receive a $10 e-gift card to a participating merchant of choice. For more information, visit rcblo- od.org/fuel. 6:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. SUNDAY, AUGUST 21 FRIDAY, AUGUST 19 80'S PROM MURDER MYSTERY CAPE FEAR BOTANICAL GARDEN 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. Come dressed in your 1980's prom best for this murder mystery. Prom officially starts at 5 p.m. You can mingle, drink, dance and shop local artisan vendors. Arriving late may result in missing out on key artifacts and evidence pertaining to the mystery. Besides, you don't want to miss out on the juicy gossip. As the night unfolds, the royalty will be rewarded, and an innocent life will be claimed. From the preppie to the punk rocker, the jock to the jilted - all are suspected, although only ONE is to blame. This event is free for Garden members and $10.00 + tax for non-members. ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY DIRTY WHISKEY CRAFT COCKTAILS 4 p.m. Sweet Tea Shakespeare will be hosting a kickoff concert in Downtown Fayetteville. The concert features their house band, the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers, as well as regional folk-rock band Driskill, and the All-American Jazz Collective. The concert will celebrate Sweet Tea Shakespeare's first ten years with a playlist made up of past audience and artist favorites. Beer, wine, and a custom cocktail will be served along with sweet treats for a summer concert under the stars. SATURDAY, AUGUST 20 THURSDAY, AUGUST 18 THE BOOZY CAULDRON TAVERN 116 PERSON STREET 7 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. The Boozy Cauldron Tavern is popping up in Fayetteville for a 4-part Cocktail Experience and show led by Witches and Wizards. You will be taken on a magical journey where you can imbibe on the four delicious signature cocktails (including the tavern's old fashioned buttered beer) and hear and feel the stories surrounding the famous tavern and the ghosts that still haunt the establishment.
