CHAPTER GOALS: 1. Demonstrate and maintain present leadership. 2. Create systems and protocols for chapter engagement. 3. Cultivate a greater sense of belonging to strengthen our sisterhood. 10.75" KAPPA ALPHA THETA P.O. T he spring 2022 semester was memorable and gratifying in every way. We initiated seven new members, won third place in RAMS, and celebrated five seniors—Peyton Headlee '18, Angelina Hein '18, Mac McMullan '18, Molly Shumard '18, and Rianda Wenther '18—who were recognized for the prestigious Mizzou 39 award. Although we are continually moving toward our "new normal," we are fortunate that many of our members are finally getting to experience social and sisterhood events. During the fall semester, we placed first in grades and enjoyed in-person experiences. We participated in Homecoming with Webkinz as our theme. Madison Herweck'18 represented Theta and was crowned Mizzou's 2021 Homecoming Queen. All of our members loved celebrating our hard work and Madison's accomplishment. The chapter took that excitement with us as we began the spring semester with informal recruitment. Seven new members found their home in Theta in February. Our Bid Day theme was "We're Not Really Strangers," named after the card game. We also put on CASA Carnival and Capture the Kite in early March. At CASA Carnival, we exceeded our fundraising goal by selling tickets for our carnival-themed food, games on the lawn, and to pie people, including the Homecoming Queen, our House Mom, and Mizzou's Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. Our chapter has been able to have meaningful in-person experiences through socials, sisterhood events, and philanthropy events while continuing to follow local and CDC guidelines. We are looking forward to a lot more "firsts" this fall semester, and we can't wait to expand on our love for Kappa Alpha Theta!
