The Beta Omicron men continue to achieve outstanding GPAs, and they continue good membership with 99 active members, even without housing. Chapter meetings are held on campus at Mezes Hall with advantages of attendance, study halls, no distractions, and no upkeep. During the pandemic, TBSAF sidestepped a financially adverse outcome. If you meet the men, we assure you… you'll be impressed. FALL 2021 SCHOLARSHIPS Texas Beta Educational Fund fall 2021 scholarships went to ten 4.0 men at $500 each, plus three scholarships that "make a true difference" at $1,000 each, or $8,000 total, along with high-quality mementos. These three men, Josh Bedingfield '25, Mihiro Suzuki '24, and Chris Cardenas '24, had semester GPAs of 3.55, 4.0, and 3.92 respectively. The ten 4.0 men were Alec Bassett '22, Thomas Driscoll '23, Grayson Merritt '24, Mark Ganucheau '25, Danny Perille '23, Brian Ricks '24, Mihiro Suzuki '24, Daniel Weinstein '22, and Nick Whelan '25. SPRING 2022 SCHOLARSHIPS TBEF spring 2022 scholarships went to eleven 4.0 men at $500 each, plus three that "make a true difference" at $1,000 each, or $8,500 total, along with high-quality mementos. The eleven men were Fox Walker '22, Danny Perille '23, Cole Smylie '24, Athul Nair '24, Andrew Martin '23, Mark Linnell '23, Thomas Driscoll '23, Miles Carey '22, Owen Butler '25, Ted Beiter '22, and Alec Bassett '22. The three are Cole Smyile '24, Andrew Martin '23 and Chris Cardenas '24. A long-term housing solution requires exceptional alignment with UT, skating to where the puck will be, and support from Beta alumni stakeholders—as well as, most likely, stakeholders that are mission- matched foundations and sources but not necessarily Beta alumni. We know that the highest-quality housing will take many years of planning and execution, which requires our immediate attention today. A long- term solution that works for our Chapter members, and a known path, are necessary for the Chapter's growth and continued success at UT.
