e Washington Alpha Delt 4 many hands, one heart G reetings, Alumni and Members of the Alpha Delta Phi, Our active chapter and alumni network have never encountered a more critical time in our long history. As we complete the rebuild/remodel of the Chapter House, we are entering a time of revitalization that will provide abundant opportunities for undergraduates to learn, mentor, and grow, becoming an influential fraternal organization. Due to the pandemic, classes were held remotely for two years, just returning a little over a month ago. In March of my first year, all UW students were sent home, and classes turned remote. Additionally, the brotherhood we seek became increasingly harder to hold stable. At the same time, the fraternity moved into the leased Delta Upsilon fraternity house during construction of our Chapter house. The option was to scatter into smaller housing, or stay together. While the DU facility was less than ideal, living there kept us together. When given the choice of living in separate houses spread across the University District, or DU, I would choose DU any day. Thanks to our Alumni Board, that choice was made. To revitalize the AD spirit, we started 2022 with a Chapter-wide retreat. We sparked meaningful discussion around our Chapter's purpose, values, and goals. As Brothers, we amended almost 30 changes to the bylaws and enacted purposeful and productive changes to our initiation process. Upon concluding our retreat, our bonds of Brotherhood had never been stronger. I am proud of our chapters' success these past two years, despite the challenges, continuously progressing and creating meaningful engagement. I am pleased to announce that we maintained a fantastic Chapter GPA of 3.6 for Winter quarter. We started the year initiating 22 pledges and then pledged and initiated six additional members in Spring. Many of our graduating seniors have secured full-time positions starting soon. Our juniors, soon to be seniors in the Fall, have begun their application processes. We invited a past Chapter President Michael Belick '15 to host a resume tutoring class. As a business developer at LinkedIn, Michael knows the ins and outs of making a resume tell a story. This is an example of Alumni engagement: the core of our Brotherhood that gives Actives a glimpse into the excellence of our foundation. Alumni, I want to assure you that we have not wasted your donations and arduous work toward this Chapter. This house consists of undergrads of various talents, including a UW nanofabrication intern, an IFC President, an IFC Standards Board member, a NOAA whale vocalization researcher, a professional Seahawks photographer, two professional DJs, a sound engineer, a biomedical engineer, electrical engineers, and many more unique and impressive individuals. All these successful individuals find their commonality in Alpha Delta Phi. The Chapter helps to foster the development of young men ready to unleash our compounded potential ultimately into society. I want to thank the Alumni Board for your dedicated personal support and guidance through these past few months as President; your involvement is unmatched by any other fraternity house at UW. Special thanks to our chapter's past two presidents, Brooks Lierle '22 and Logen Gendron '22. You both did much heavy lifting. Your work in moving this chapter, then keeping it together throughout the pandemic and the challenging DU experience. This is something no other chapter presidents have dealt with. We are eternally grateful for the job you both did. Our move into the new Chapter House is complete. Final landscaping is being completed and the construction punch list is being addressed. We are ready to hit the ground running heading into this summer and Fall, made possible by our alumni and the active chapter. Alumni, thank you on behalf of the Active Chapter for your continued support for the Alpha Delta Phi now and for generations to come. Thank you again, and please feel free to visit our beautiful new home. Xaipe, Preston Ball '23 Chapter President preston.c.ball@gmail.com IFC meeting held in the new Logotech room.
