Porter '64, founder of the Gamma Delta of Sigma Chi Endowed Scholarship Fund and member of the Order of Constantine, we announce the elevation of R. Cliff Lyle '80 to stand in Joe's shoes. Cliff and his committee are responsible for selection and awarding of scholarships. As a past consul, Chapter advisor, and faculty member of the Sigma Chi Leadership Training Workshop, Cliff is uniquely qualified to lead this effort. He has been active in the process and worked with Joe in an orderly transition over the past 18 months. Butts Family Endowment Focuses on Gamma Delta We are pleased to report that Monty Butts '20, and his wife, Jane have directed their family's Endowed Scholarship Fund at the OSU Foundation to exclusively benefit Gamma Delta undergraduate brothers. Monty's son, Matt Butts '07 is a former consul, and his son-in law Whit Culver '01 is a former Consul and the current president of the House Corporation. There are now five endowed funds at the OSU Foundation that benefit Gamma Gamma undergraduates through annual scholarships: Gamma Delta of Sigma Chi, Watson Family, Don Stout Memorial, Berryhill Memorial, and Butts Family. This is a surreal opportunity for our collegiate brothers, and we thank those who made it possible. Another Milestone for Gamma Delta We continue to build on the awarding of scholarships and Sigma Chi Leadership Institute Certificates to over 60 undergraduate brothers at our inaugural Scholarship Dinner last August. The Gamma Delta of Sigma Chi Endowed Scholarship Fund underwrote SCLI's inaugural Leadership Journey Workshop through special scholarship awards to 36 freshman and sophomore brothers. SCLI elaborates on what the workshop entails, as written in the SCLI pressor from March 1, 2022: The 20-hour Leadership Journey Workshop was created to teach the participants the concepts required to become enduring leaders who have internalized their values and choose to positively affect their campus communities. The workshop includes both large and small group sessions that focus on leadership concepts which, in turn, allow participants to meet competencies including effective communication, versatility, and values-based decision making. In addition to the group session, hands-on activities allow workshop participants to put their learning into practice. The undergraduate Chapter leadership has requested that the Leadership Journey Workshop become an annual spring event, as the keystone of Post Initiate Training for fall and spring initiates. We are exploring ways to accomplish this as part of the Endowed Scholarship Fund's annual program. Thank you for your continued financial support.
