ALUMNI UPDATE
Chapter Eternal
Samuel "Jim" Hanna Jr. '53 entered Chapter
Eternal on October 29, 2021. Jim grew up
in Chicago. He worked for the Aluminum
Company of America for 36 years, retiring
in 1991 after living in Pittsburgh, Pa.; Alcoa,
Tenn.; and Davenport, Iowa. Both Jim and
his wife, Judy, loved traveling and cruising to
various countries as well as playing bridge,
golf, and tennis. Jim was a Kiwanian, a Stephen
Minister, and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
He was an active member of both S.I.U.M.C.
and the Thorne Sunday School Class as well as
co-chairman of The Communion Committee.
Judy writes that Jim was a loyal member of
Alpha Mu who enjoyed receiving newsletters
and updates. The couple was thrilled to
hear about the chapter house expansion and
elimination of our mortgage. Judy sends her
congratulations and wishes our chapter another
grand year.
Alumni News
James McMartin '71 is retired and enjoys
playing golf, gardening, looking after his
grandchildren, and traveling (before the
pandemic). He lives in The Woodlands, Texas.

Brian Banker '08 lives in Manvel, Texas, just
outside Houston, where he works at the NASA
Johnson Space Center. He serves as the systems
lead for the Habitation and Logistics Module,
which is part of the Gateway Orbiting Lunar
Outpost scheduled to launch in 2023.
