THE TOMAHAWK 3 Theta Chi at ISU T his spring has been the first semester where Greek life has resembled pre- COVID times. Students at Iowa State University have, for the most part, resumed in-person classes on campus. With the return of philanthropy events and in-person dinner speakers as well as an increase in brotherhood events, our members have experienced much busier schedules than in the previous two semesters. Our membership has faced this period of readjustment head-on and is excited to keep restoring Theta Chi to its pre- pandemic strength (and beyond). One of the best sights to see this spring has been the friendships that our fall 2021 pledge class has formed with one another and their older brothers. We happily accepted five new members, who moved into the house at the beginning of the spring semester, and their presence is a large factor in the overall enjoyment of living at Theta Chi. We frequently see our out-of-house members at the facility when they come to see a dinner speaker, chat with friends while sharing a meal, or participate in a brotherhood event hosted by our VPs of brogramming. Gathering in the chapter house is once again a positive experience that all members and guests can enjoy. Per tradition, members gave Greek Week their all this spring! We once again hosted the Egg-Joust competition in the volleyball pit behind the chapter house. This is a tradition that many of our younger members have yet to see, while our older members recall this as a great experience for Alpha Mu. Not only is this a great experience for our members, but this also allows the rest of the community to better see the great things going on within the brotherhood of Theta Chi. As the 100th celebration draws closer, brothers are increasingly excited to meet and reconnect with the men who have worked hard to keep this chapter alive and celebrate this historic event in our history together. Alpha Mu Chapter of Theta Chi has persevered through difficult times and has seen great success during its 100-year tenure, and I believe that some of the best times are still in the future for this fraternity we love.
