"irty-seven years ago, I headed to CU with my childhood best friend to pursue what I believe most high school grads set out to do; get a great education, make new friendships and prepare for life as an adult. What I didn't expect is that the brotherhood of Phi Gamma Delta would ultimately serve as the most rewarding influence surrounding leadership, relationships and commitment." –Robert Dechellis '89, Campaign Co-Chairmen 5 BOULDER FIJI – NOT FOR COLLEGE DAYS ALONE! "At the heart of a fraternity is a chapter house. A place to gather, grow and learn as brothers. My Dad always commented during my time at the Fiji house on how much it changed me in a positive way. He was seeing the impact of being accountable to my fellow Fijis by ensuring our house was nurtured and a place that we could call our home during those college years. Having a house gave me the opportunity to be a leader of men, a role model, and someone that people could count on, skills I've used throughout my life. I don't know of another experience during one's college years where you're accountable for a significant property and the men who live and gather there. Having a house is critical to ensuring that every member gets to experience what it's truly like to be a Fiji. It's the heart of a successful and flourishing chapter." –Gareth Stevens '88, Campaign Co-Chairmen O ur motto speaks to our lifelong commitment to an experience that began in Boulder. Each of us, simply by our presence, has contributed to the history of Fiji at CU. Because of the magnitude of our need, we urge all brothers to consider major gis to the campaign. Graduate leadership is asking for non-tax-deductible pledges to be directed to the House Corporation. Upon purchase, the educational space will be determined, and tax deductibility will be offered sequential to pledge size. To help donors make the largest gi possible, pledges may be spread over a five-year period. Large first payments on pledges to the campaign are preferable to help reduce borrowing costs. Naming opportunities will exist for individual donors of $50,000 or more or a cumulative gi of $100,000 or more once property purchase is finalized. All supporters of the project investing $5,000 or more will be recognized on a prominently displayed plaque. All donors investing $2,500 or more will appear in campaign publications, unless otherwise requested. Names will appear by category relative to the size of their gi. Gis in honor or in memory of brothers, as well as family and pledge class gis, are welcomed. Recognition in such cases will be given to both the donor and honoree. Please consult your financial advisor or attorney for professional tax advice. We urge your thoughtful consideration of this plan. With your support, the Fijis at CU will be able to provide a permanent, quality living environment that supports, nurtures, and develops outstanding young men with the skills and confidence to face an ever-changing world.
