PHILANTHROPY During the 2021-22 school year, Theta Iota Chapter raised over $69,284 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In addition, we are excited to announce that all Tri Delta chapters nationwide raised over $60 million in eight years, exceeding our goal by two whole years! We are so proud of this amazing accomplishment. Furthermore, in February we had our 20K in a Day fundraiser event in which our entire chapter raised over $20,000 in just 24 hours. Overall, this fundraiser was a huge success and raised over $29,956. In April, we hosted our annual "Drive-Thru" event at the house in our circle driveway where we raised over $2,700. During this event, we served our guests either a corn dog or grilled cheese mac and cheese with a drink and cookie for $4 (or $7 for both). To end the semester, Tri Delta participated in Sigma Chi's Derby Days, where we raised over $10,000 for the Huntsman Cancer Foundation and, with our victory, won $500 for St. Jude! Our chapter is extremely grateful for all the generous contributions and donations. ACADEMICS Our grade point average for last semester was a 3.4. We had 20 ladies with a 4.0 GPA and 17 with a GPA between 3.75-3.9! SOCIAL The spring semester was a whirlwind of fun events. We kicked it off with a Valentine's-themed date party where everyone came in their best red and pink attire. We also had a Galentine's Day sisterhood event complete with yummy treats and a card-making station where we wrote Valentine's cards to our sisters. Our Mom's Weekend was the first weekend of April. On Saturday, we had candle making, a sustainable bracelet booth and a guided painting class. Sunday consisted of a brunch, mom's club auction and vendors, including Kendra Scott and Rev Thread. Our new director of public relations and marketing, Courtney Pitts '21, recently put on a media event before chapter where we dressed up and took cute pictures and videos in front of the house. Members wore white and pink dresses and we had props like flower bouquets and confetti poppers. These pictures and videos will be on our Instagram and put into our sisterhood video for recruitment. Formal was our last event of the semester— and it was a hit. Everyone came dressed to impress and danced the night away. RECRUITMENT With the end of the spring semester, we are in full swing preparing for fall recruitment. Our new vice president of membership experience, Kayleigh Bellamy '20, along with our new director of recruitment events, Ashley Eck '19, and her assistant, Allison Branam '19, have been working hard to make sure this upcoming recruitment goes as smoothly as possible. These women have already held two recruitment practices where our sisters in the 2021 pledge class were taught the walk-out, practiced bumping and practiced conversations to have with future potential new members. With next year's events hopefully returning to normal after a few years of COVID- friendly recruitment, we are excited to meet our new members and see their beautiful faces, mask-free. Our recruitment team has already chosen the attire for each round of recruitment, including bubblegum pink dresses for sisterhood round and a beautiful sage green for preference round. We have also chosen our Bid Day theme for next year, which is Delta Airlines. They have come up with the cute catchphrase, "We only fly Delta." We are so excited for recruitment this fall and can't wait to meet our future pledge class. COLLEGIATE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE From Friday, April 8, to Sunday, April 10, our slated new executive team attended Collegiate Leadership Conference in Dallas, Texas. At CLC, the team met up with hundreds of other Tri Delta sisters to learn about their new officer positions and discuss ways to make the chapter the best it can possibly be. They also met women of the same officer positions at other Tri Deltas across the country and talked with representatives of Tri Delta Housing and Tri Delta nationals. On Saturday night, CLC hosted an exclusive St. Jude event where they announced that Tri Delta had hit their goal of raising $60 million. Our executive team had a blast at CLC and is looking forward to utilizing all that they learned to make Kansas State Tri Delta even better.
