Credit Score vs. Credit Report Need a "get out of debt" plan or just need someone to review your credit report with you? Redstone , s accredited financial counselors can help.. What's the difference between a credit score and a credit report? Credit scores and credit reports both represent an individual's creditworthiness or likelihood to repay a loan. However, they are two different things. A credit report is a detailed history of your credit use, such as payment date, amount, utilization, and duration. Your credit score is a three-digit number generated from the information on your credit report. Should I be more concerned about my credit score or credit report? Your credit score can fluctuate often, which is completely normal. It may happen because: • Information in your credit report is regularly updated. • You are making payments on the credit accounts. Try not to stress about your exact score. Instead, focus on maintaining positive habits that lead to a good score.
