The theme for the 2022 Summer Reading Program in most libraries in Arkansas is: Oceans of Possibilities! Libraries are planning programs and activities around the Ocean theme! You can start dreaming about beaches by reading fiction and nonfiction books about ocean animals or just watching fun movies like FINDING NEMO or MOANA. Mark your calendars, check your favorite Library's Facebook/web pages, and join your local Public Library for the OCEANS OF POSSIBILITIES Summer Reading Program. In this story, a boy receives a package from Iran. When he opens the mysterious bottle in the package, a strong wind takes him over the oceans and mountains, straight into the arms of his grandfather. Despite being in different countries, the boy and his grandfather can share their love. Narwhal: unicorn of the sea by ben clanton This is a new series! It is an early Graphic Novel series, and the main characters are Narwhal and Jelly – a jellyfish. This is a story about friendship, imagination, and being together with your friends. the rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister and J alison James Rainbow Fish, with his shiny scales, is the most beautiful fish in the whole ocean. He begins to think that he is more special than all the other fish. He begins to lose his friends and realizes that everyone is special no matter what they look like. He begins to share his glitter scales with the other fish and he makes so many new friends. easy readers listening to Whales sing by Faith McNulty A young girl listens to the mysterious and wonderful song of a whale and wonders what it might be saying. This is a story that introduces endangered species and shows how important it is to preserve the environment. enGlisH/spanisH Books Hello ocean / Hola mar by Pam Muñoz ryan and Mark astrella This is a beautiful book about visiting the ocean! After reading this book, you will close your eyes and remember what the sand feels as you walk along the beach searching for seashells or what the ocean tastes like on your lips. Through realistic illustrations, you will learn about your five senses in English and Spanish. Fiction Dark Day in the Deep sea by Mary Pope Osborne and sal Murdocca Another adventure for Jack and Annie! The Magic Tree House send Jack and Annie to a deserted island in the middle of the ocean. They are rescued by a ship of explorers and scientists and join the search to find a sea monster! emily Windsnap by liz Kessler Liz Kessler has written extremely popular books for the middle-grade readers.
