The Squirrel's Nest 6 W ow, what a semester and what a year for Psi Chapter! In November, we celebrated 100 years at the Capstone. The week was full of excitement and events to recognize all that our chapter has accomplished over the last 100 years as well as the many ways that each member strives to build on our legacy each day. Our most exciting event of the 100-year celebrations was being together at Regions Field in Birmingham. It was an outstanding event and the perfect way to celebrate. I am so proud of the many ways that Psi Chapter is committed to academic excellence, service to campus and the community, ongoing leadership and personal development, and remaining well- rounded, exceptional women. In fall 2021, the chapter GPA was a 3.76, ranking first among all National Panhellenic Conference groups on campus. We will have 25 members graduating with a perfect 4.0 in May 2022. It is so encouraging to see our members' devotion to academic excellence and determination to succeed. Outside of the classroom, Psi Chapter serves our campus and community in a multitude of ways. This year, our Fifth Quarter 5K raised over $27,000 through the support of active members, alumnae, and community partners. During our annual Week of Service in February, members completed 800-plus hours of service. Members helped package over 6,000 meals for Rise Against Hunger while also volunteering with Meals on Wheels and the West Alabama Food Bank. This spring, members continued to find ways to get involved on campus, and several even stepped into leadership roles. The campus relations team is intentional about pinpointing members for organizations and walking alongside them every step of the way. Hannah Hale '19 was selected to serve as Panhellenic president, and 23 members were selected as members of Freshman Forum. Six members were selected as new members of Capstone Men and Women, and three members joined the Blackburn Institute's most recent class, just to name a few. Psi Chapter also won third place in this year's Homecoming competitions. Each member individually strives for excellence, which leads to chapter success. At this year's Honors Day Tapping on the Mound, Reina Parker '19, Julia Stewart '19, Helen Babb '19, and Emily Roach '19 were selected as new members of The Anderson Society. Izzy Boyd '19, Hannah Hale '19, Priya Nangia '19, Emily Roach '19, Mary Jane Rose '19, and Julia Stewart '19 were tapped into Blue Key. Helen Babb '19, Izzy Boyd '19, Ashton Libel '19, Katherine Moore '19, Reina Parker '19, Emily Roach '19, and Julia Stewart '19 were tapped into Psi Chapter is named Most Outstanding Sorority, recognizing our multitude of achievements.
