We proverbially, "Can't see the forest for the trees." We are inundated with pressure from all sides of life. Whether it be our jobs, family responsibilities, community involvement or many other things, we allow our lives to become a routine of fulfi lling life's duties. If we are not careful, we lose the preciousness of life in the midst of living. Perhaps you have experienced the gnawing question, "Is this all life has to offer?" How does a person add purpose to his or her life? Please allow a fellow traveler to give a few words of encouragement. We must fi rst of all be willing to admit that our life is a gift from an all-wise Creator. Without acknowledging that simple truth, then our life will be summed up by a series of random events. After acknowledging that we have been placed in this world for a unique purpose then we must set out to fulfi ll that purpose. Jesus was asked a question of life's greatest responsibility. He answered that life's greatest purpose was to love God with all of our heart, mind and soul and to love our neighbor as ourselves. If our life is going to have real meaning, then a relationship with God must be a priority. We must start each new day with a conscious decision to bring God into the equation of our life. Then we must begin to look for someone whose life we can touch with God's love. If we live each day with those two purposes, then life will become an exciting adventure and not just a quest to survive.
