1975 PLEDGE CLASS VIRTUAL HAPPY HOUR
On March 15th the class of 1975 held a
Zoom call hosted by Dan Nemmers
(Nimbos). This gave Pledge Brothers a
chance to bring others up-to-date on
what they have been doing the last 43 -
44 years. Mike Risk and our pledge trainer
Gene Commander (Commando) were
special guests. Brothers that participated:
1. Kim Foss (Kegger)
2. Mike Hattery ( Hats)
3. Hal Henderson ( Hendo)
4. Bill Luterbach (Lutz/Willy 3)
5. Bill Plantan ( Willy 2)
6. Dave Steinke (Stinky)
7. Mark Wagner (Wags)
8. Gary Young (Youngsie)
Ed Bruere (Yogi), Dennis Griggs ( Griggsy),
and Scott McQueen (Queener) responded
but had conflicts or forgot. This meant
they were not there to defend themselves
regarding stories that were shared.
Due to a technical glitch Willy 2 was not
able to tell any long stories which was
probably a good thing. The pledge skip to
Champaign, Illinois was a funny topic.
One reason for a trip to Illinois was the 6-
point beer versus the 3.2 in Iowa. During
this 6-hour road trip, the keg on the bus
was emptied well before arrival in
Champaign. Kegger started the chant
"We need more beer. Illinois 6-point beer".
After seeing everyone on the Zoom call I
can tell you 44 years later the new chant
is "We need more hair!"
Many of our pledge brothers are living or
wintering in warm places like Arizona
and Florida. Nimbos gathered updated
information on everyone to send out to
the group. We are still looking for updates
from any other pledge brothers so if you

The special talent of this pledge class was their singing
ability led by Willy 2, Rick Anglin, and Dick Bartley. However,
the pledge class song to the actives when we returned to
Ames was a disaster. For whatever reason, the song started
with whistling which no one could do under pressure. Yogi
was called on to whistle by the actives and the only thing
that came out was hot air. It was hilarious!
