Delta Delta Delta page 3 S pring semester has been treating Delta Mu Chapter wonderfully! We kicked off the semester with our annual philanthropy event Sincerely Yours by reaching out to family and friends via email and asking for donations, raising a whopping $80,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Our community efforts don't stop there! We raised over $500 to raise awareness for Morquio syndrome, a rare and progressive birth defect. Frances "Lulu" Lavin '18 knows a young boy whose parents began the fundraiser, called Rooting for Robert, to give him and other children hope for finding a cure for this disease. The heart of Tri Delta has been touched by the several stories we've heard; we're grateful that we can step into the community and be part of the difference. We had a wonderful Parents' Weekend the first weekend of March. With a date party Friday night at Drish House, a crawfish boil Saturday afternoon at Druid City Social, and a breakfast Sunday morning at the Tri Delta House, the parents of the Chapter spent many special moments with their daughters. Tri Delta has prioritized bonding and growing our connections with one another. We've hosted three date parties so far; in January, we had a ski lodge- themed function at Rounders; in February, the juniors and seniors had their biannual First Circle date party with Kappa Delta and Alpha Gamma Delta; in March, we had a "tacky prom"-themed date party at Dillard's Chophouse. In addition to date parties, we hosted several sisterhood events. We had a You Are Loved dinner at the house for Valentine's Day. We also participated in a movie event with Phi Mu where we went to see the movie Marry Me. During February, the process of choosing Capstone men and women took place. Alex Dunn Cordova '21 was selected as a member—way to go, Alex! We are so proud of her for this great accomplishment. She joined two other members of our Chapter on this esteemed team: Sami Swistak '19 and incoming Chapter President Kelsey Curry '19. In the midst of celebrating our collegians, we are sad for our seniors to be leaving, but we are much prouder to see many of them preparing for their lives after college. Natalie Argentina '18 was accepted into the Columbia Publishing Course at Columbia University to begin her career in literary publishing. Catie Meanor '18 received an assistantship position with the University of Alabama's athletics department. Delta Mu Chapter has been having a great semester; we are certain that the rest of the semester will be just as great. After the uncertainties over the past two years, we are relieved and thrilled to continue strengthening our sisterhood and thriving in every endeavor. The wait was long, but it was worth it!
