Even with all this connectivity we have, we are less connected than ever before. I implore each of you to carve out a night, day, or weekend this spring and meet up with some Delts, even if it's just for dinner. I recently went to Denver to visit some of the many Beta Zetas out there, and it was exactly what we all needed, more than we all knew. Connection, community, togetherness—it's what makes this whole experience called life meaningful. Let's take care of ourselves, and let's take care of each other out there. Fraternally, Dustin Sickinger '05 Make Time for Beta Zeta Brothers A Shining Light to Steer Away from Darkness Mayor Chris Jensen '06 Finds strength in eMpowering his CoMMunity "K nowledge is power," Mayor Chris Jensen '06 stated. Knowing your community, the people you serve, and yourself is fundamental in being a leader. As mayor of Noblesville, Indiana, Chris works diligently to show kindness and compassion toward people from all walks of life, making his career in public office significant for not only his experience, but also the experience of Noblesville's community members. "Looking back, Beta Zeta Chapter set the standard for how I want to lead," Chris began. "There's an undertone in fraternity life that prioritizes giving back. The various service-driven aspects of Beta Zeta bled over into my life as an adult, reminding me of the importance of service above self." Six years ago, Chris was a young council member with a vision; soon, he found himself running for mayor. When asked where he sees himself 10 years from now, Chris is certain he will remain in Noblesville. As it's the town he grew up in, there's a sense of nostalgia and duty that inspire him to push the community to thrive: "It's not only where I work, but it's where I live. I have a family here, a network of people to lean on, even when times are tough." When the pandemic began, everyone's lives took a turn; suddenly, the world halted, and isolation began. If anything, the pandemic reinforced the idea that community is the backbone of any small town. Shortly after the initial days of COVID-19, Chris was approached by his close friend (Continued on page 2)
