Alpha Nu Chapter 4 I t's no secret that Alpha Nu has faced struggles regarding Chapter House construction and the COVID-19 pandemic. However, in September, we secured our temporary occupancy permit and moved into the main house. Life with a house looks a lot different than life without it, and we are excited to move brothers into the new dorm this year. Shortly aer fall move-in, chef Mark returned, and the meal plan was in full swing with lunch and dinner on Monday through ursday (with Mark's famous Friday brunch, of course). Other aspects of brotherhood have returned as well, including our favorite: house hoops! "Playing basketball every night has allowed me to get a lot closer to a ton of guys in different pledge classes," Jackson Conner '24 said. Outside of basketball, brothers are connecting in many other activities around the Chapter House as well. "I enjoy playing pool in the house because it acts as a gathering place during the day," Noah Contreras '24 shared. "Everyone congregates there, and it gives us a great opportunity to catch up and be a bit competitive. We always find different games to play, and the pool table continues to be a favorite spot for people to hang out and get closer." It was wonderful to host staple Sigma Chi parties in our own home once again! Halloween was the first party back at the Chapter House, but the big event was Fight Night. Fighters from all organizations competed in sanctioned matches in front of a sold-out crowd, followed by a Sean Kingston concert. As usual, the proceeds from the event went toward the Hunstman Cancer Institute. We also held our annual SnowDaze party back at the Chapter House for the first time in three years. We look forward to hosting both Roundup and Derby Days in the coming months. Going forward, we hope to build upon our success with a productive summer recruitment. Forty-four brothers will move into the new apartment buildings for the 2022-23 school year. We can't wait to welcome you at the dedication this fall!
